Storage Tips

  • LockMake sure and leave refrigerator doors open a crack.


  • Use a good quality lock. Cheap locks will rust and some combination locks will stop working properly after weather exposure.


  • Labeled BoxesUse furniture with drawers as extra storage space.


  • List the items in boxes on the outside of your box. Then keep a master list of all items in your storage unit at your home.


  • Place items you may need access to at the front of your unit for easy access.


  • Try to use relatively uniform box sizes to help with stacking.


  • FragileBreak down tables with removable legs to help save space.


  • Make sure and label items like mirrors and pictures as fragile.


  • Do not place heavy or sharp objects on upholstered furniture.


  • Do not store combustible items such as paints, or fuels in your unit.

  • Flammable
  • Do not store items too close to the unit door as they may fall on the door jamming it closed from the inside.


  • Sofas and love seats can be stored on end to help save floor space.
